FORMER PRESIDENT, GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN
Jonathan is an endless well of humility, simplicity and discipline. He is the first native of the “CREEK” to have occupied the Aso Rock mansion for six years. He stands highly influential and notable for his role in stabilizing democracy in Nigeria. Unlike most African Heads of State, he scores high in defense of democracy. He is one without records of human right abuses who promoted free press which is the stamp of democracy
In his time, he came up with some initiatives to tackle black out with an articulated Road map for Power Sector Reform which included the privatization of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). He introduced the Youth Enterprise With Innovation in Nigeria (YOUWIN) to tackle massive youth unemployment and grinding poverty in Nigeria. He is a detribalized leader who built schools for the Almagirins in the North.
He is the former Deputy Governor and Governor of Bayelsa State and also the former Vice President and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was born on 20 November, 1957 to a family of Canoe makers in Otuoke, Ogbia L.G.A in Bayelsa State. He is a scholar, teacher and politician who is married to Dame Patience Jonathan.
